BACK PAIN

Dr. Rader,

I wanted to thank you for making it possible for me to go on this Colorado Adventure. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but was unable because of my back problems. I’ve gone to an orthopedic surgeon since my car accident in February 2007. I was given steroid packs, pain pills, muscle relaxers, injections and physical therapy, nothing seemed to work until my mother- in- law told me about spinal decompression and the success she had with the treatments. I thought I would give it a shot. That’s when I met with Dr. Rader. During my initial consultation, one of the questions asked was, “what would you do if you no longer had back problems?” One of my answers was to take an Outward Bound Alpine Backpacking trip. I asked Dr. Rader if this would even be an option. He said it depends on how I respond to the adjustments and the decompression, it’s a possibility. In less than two months my back felt stronger than it had in a long time and I was able to take my trip. The trip involved miles of hiking with a 55 pound pack, climbing 13,686 feet, rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting and a very challenging ropes course. I accomplished this without any back problems. (I did have to promise to wear my belt)

The last three months with Dr. Rader and Lindsey have been a very positive experience for me, not just from having less back pain, but the warm, friendly environment. Lindsey remembered my name after the first visit (I think it took Dr. Rader a little longer). They both seem to really care about their patients. One can usually tell when someone is truly passionate about what they do or if they are just going through the motions. Dr. Rader believes in what he does and it shows.

Thanks again for working so hard to help make this trip possible.

HUSBAND GETS LIFE BACK

I just wanted to take a moment and send this email to you to "thank you so much" for all that you have done for Wayne.  This past weekend was the most pleasant time we have spent together since before his open heart surgery.  He actually felt good, laughed and seemed so much like his old self.  He is sleeping so much better than before.  He still cannot sleep the whole night through, but he is able to sleep for 4 hours straight.  He has told me that the pain is not gone, but it is tolerable.  He has not missed a day of work since his first appointment with you.  I am very encouraged that he will someday be pain free and will be able to umpire softball again.  I have told so many people about you and your practice and encouraged them to give you a call.  We plan to bring our daughter and son into see you when we get Wayne straightened out.  Our kids are both athletes and complain constantly about their backs hurting.  I know that you can get them straightened out as well.  You and your practice are truly a blessing to our family.

I am so thankful that God brought us together. GOD BLESS YOU!

MY NAME IS DAVID!

Written by his Grandma

For a child who suffered from severe asthma attacks, getting that sentence out in one breath was difficult at times. In fact, just getting a breath in was difficult at times.

David was born on October 3rd, 2000. He had complications at birth and when he was born he was in respiratory distress. They rushed him to ICU and after a few hours on oxygen he was much better. We brought him home, proud parents and grandparents all excited with the birth of our first child and grandchild.
At 2 months David came down with a cold and then a sinus infection and another cold and bad cough and bronchitis and a then another cold and sinus infection and then a bad cough and bronchitis...you get the picture. We spent more time in doctor’s offices and hospital emergency rooms then we did at home over the next 3 years. They kept telling us that David had a low immune system which was the reason for him getting sick so often and so severely. He has breathing difficulties all the time while he was ill. We thought ok, we will just have to keep him away from people and take turns staying up with him at _night taking care of him. My daughter quit her job, and the family shared in supporting them.

Finally, after 3 years, we took him to a different specialist at Medical City and after a few short test, the Doctor told us “this child has asthma and probably has since he was born”. Our mouths fell open, we could not believe that after all the doctor’s David had been too, none of them diagnosed him with asthma. My daughter and I looked at each other and with tears and frustration.

Shaking our heads we took a short class in the doctors office and went thru training on what to do, how to administer his medications, what to do when he stops breathing. I thought my God! Stops breathing! _Did I hear that right? I do not remember hearing anything after that. I just put my head in my hands and cried.

She told us that David would grow out of it around 5 or 6. So we learned all we could about asthma. We found out that David had allergy induced asthma. Living in Texas I think everyone suffers from allergies _and that meant we had a battle on our hands. We learned to count breaths, give breathing treatments, a routine of medicines taken by mouth, nose spray, humidifier and air monitors in his room. We had a _filtering system put in David’s house and we put air filtering machines in my house. We bought special sheets, pillow cases, soaps, lotions and then some. No cats, no dogs, no carpet, no stuffed animals, but _even after all of that, David still seemed to be sick more then he was well. He did not get to run, jump, play with other kids or go to family reunions. I prayed for a miracle every day and night. One day when David turned 5, I found my modern day miracle in Dr. Rader.

I was seeing Doctor Rader for my back and he ask me if I was picking heavy things up. I said, “just my grandson. He is a sick child and I carry him a lot.” I told him the story of David and his asthma. Dr. Rader suggested I bring David in to see him. I looked at him a little surprised and said “you can treat asthma”. He said, yes. I said ok!

I went home and told my daughter. She said “mom, we have seen 50 doctors and you are telling me that your back Doctor who plays with your ear is going to help David”. I said, “yes” I believe he can. So after a few months of arguing back and forth, she let me bring him. That was in the fall of 2006.

Today it is June 2007 and David has discovered a whole new world. It is called Outside! David rides his bike almost everyday and he can swim under water the length of my volley ball pool. He just won his first trophy for playing T-Ball and they have nicked named him Babe Ruth.

David has not had an asthma attack in over 6 months! We took him off his daily steroids and a lot of his other medications. He is running and playing just like the other kids. I thank God everyday for His healing power and the talents of Dr. Rader.

Thank you Doctor Rader. There is nothing on this earth I could give you to show you how much we appreciate what you have done for David, so I will ask God to bless you abundantly. P.S. Doctors tell me David will be at least 6 feet 7 inches tall. One day he will carry his grandma.

HERNIATED DISC PAIN

Dear Dr. Rader,

Thank you for what you have done for me. I am 70. I came with degenerative low back and herniated discs, as well as a very sore heel. I was ready to go for shots for my back and my daughter-in-law, Robin, asked me to please go to you, Dr. Rader, before I did that. I am so very thankful that I listened to her. Your NUCCA treatment relaived my very sore heel the first time you did it. Then, I have spent 6 weeks on the DRX9000 machine. After the fourth week, my herniated disc pain was gone. I looked forward to coming for these treatments four times a week. I am pain free. I think for the first time in 37 years, I am beginning to lean how to take care of my back properly. I ice twice a day, even on days I have had treatments and ice at the office. Thank you, Lindsey, for reminding me that the ice would help, even at home. I plan to continue maintenance. Dr. Rader, you are a special person, in my books. When I come, you and Lindsey treat me as if I am the most important person there. I know you are the same with other practice members. I call you my "miracle worker" with "hot hands". I am so glad I found you and the treatment you have available. I am a changed person. God bless you as you continue your skill and empathetic way as you help each of us.

MIGRAINE HEADACHES

Dr. Rader in my opinion is a miracle worker. I have suffered with terrible tension and migraine headaches for at least 8 years. Sometimes, the headaches were so bad, that I couldn't even get out of bed. I have 2 small children and am a professional singer and voice teacher and my constant headaches were beginning to affect my life very negatively. I sought doctor after doctor, even a headache specialist and The common thread among all doctors was medication- either antidepressants or migraine/tension prescription- EEK! I didn't want to be dependent on medicine at my age (36). I wanted a better solution to my problem, one that didn't involve pain medication. Fortunately, one of my voice students told me about Dr. Rader and that he had really helped her with her migraine headaches. I said I would give it a try and WOW! As he began my first adjustment, I literally felt tension leave my body and a feeling a relaxation took over. It was awesome! My neck no longer hurt and I felt like I had just had a 2 hour massage- I was so relaxed. I stood up and I felt dramatically different. I went home that day feeling better than I had felt in years and in complete awe of what Dr. Rader had done for me. Dr. Rader even called me at home after the first adjustment to check on me. I have never ever had a doctor call me at home. That made an impression on me and speaks volumes about his character and integrity as a doctor. I really feel that Dr. Rader cares about his practice members and wants to help them. Since my first treatment, I have been doing well. I don't hardly have headaches anymore and if I do have one, they are so mild and usually go away on their own. Very seldom do I have to take advil. Dr. Rader has helped me so much with my headaches and I am so thankful for him and all that he has done for me.

Thank you and God Bless You, Dr. Rader

SHOULDER AND NECK PAIN

Dear Dr. Rader,

I’ll never forget when I called you and told you that my husband was in a lot of pain in his neck and down his left arm and elbow and asked, “Can you fix him?” Little did I know at that time how much you could fix him. I watched him in the previous months hold his left arm, walking in a lot of pain and having a lot of sleepless nights. He had been to a chiropractor and was told he had a bulging disk and there was nothing else he could do. He was looking at having surgery. We had been told about you by our friends and decided to try you before surgery. Especially since Bill is diabetic.

Bill started seeing you and the change was remarkable. He noticed that the pain started going away in his elbow, arm and up in his back. As weeks went by the pain became less and less and he was sleeping all night again. Now he is pain free and feels great. We are so thankful we made the choice to come to you.

Then there is my story. I have had migraines for years and started having pain between my shoulders, in my neck, and in my back. You kept telling me to come see you and how health was so important. The pain in my neck got so bad I finally decided OK, I can’t take it anymore. I gave in and started coming to see you. When I was adjusted the first time, you asked me to get up and walk around, to see how I felt. My neck was better, but what surprised me most was the fact I could breathe clearly. Something I haven’t been able to do for so many years. I decided it was something I was going to have to live with for the rest of my life. As weeks went by I started feeling better and sleeping better than I had in years. I also noticed that when I washed my hair it didn’t come out as much as it had been. Previously my beautician commented on my scalp being really tight. She had given me some shampoo that helped but this was unbelievable. My hair loss was less that it had been in years. And as far as the migraines, I had one once after you adjusted me and I haven’t had one since. All I can say is what took me so long.

Thank you Dr. Rader for changing our lives.

SAVED FROM SURGERY

Dear Dr. Rader:

Rob and I just wanted to take the opportunity at the start of a new year to that you for your care and your gift to us of good health.

Although, through NUCCA, Rob has managed to avoid serious back surgery and maintain strenuous work levels for many, many years, I have just recently experienced extreme lower back pain, necessitating treatment, and I am very grateful that I knew where to go for care when I too started suffering from back pain problems. We highly recommend you to all that we know who endure such difficulties.

Thanks again for your excellent care. We wish you good luck and success in the New Year,

NECK AND JAW PAIN

It is with most gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Rader that I write this letter.  I had been suffering from chronic neck and jaw pain for 10 years before finding Dr. Rader.  I had been to the best of every type of doctor imaginable (neuro-surgeons, traditional chiropractors, applied kinesiology/chiropractors, orthopedic specialists, physical therapists, plastic surgeons, osteopath doctors, back specialists, oral surgeons, dentists, TMJD certified dentists), and no one was really able to help me.  As a result of my chronic pain, I began suffering from depression and anxiety and did not know who to turn to for help.  This is when I heard about Dr. Rader’s practice.

Dr. Rader has been a life saver for me.  He and his staff have been extremely patient and generous to me and all the practice members I have met at his office.  For a while I was in so much pain and depression, I did not think anyone could help me, but Dr. Rader proved me wrong.  Because of the extent of my injuries and medical history, I did not get immediate relief from NUCCA Chiropractics; however, after sticking with it for about a month, I noticed a huge difference.  There are no words to describe how much better I feel after undergoing treatment with Dr. Rader.  Everything, including my ankle, knee, hip, TMJD, neck, and headaches have dramatically improved.  For anyone who suffers from pain, I would recommend trying Dr. Rader’s treatment.  Even if you don’t get immediate results, don’t give up; continue with the treatment for at least a couple of months.  I did, and it has turned my life around.

In addition to Dr. Rader’s treatment, I found that muscle specialist Dr. Rader recommended is also helping to stabilize my body and helps me to keep my adjustments longer.

Thank you for all your help and patience.

Best Regards,
Dan

BACK PAIN

Dear Dr. Rader,

Thank you so much for helping me have a good back. I had back pains before my cheerleading accident. After I heard and saw Dr. Rader heal my sister from migraines, I was very thankful. Then I hurt my back. I couldn't move without my back hurting. I was out of school for 1 month. I had an MRI and I had a back scan. Nothing was different. My mom took me to Dr. Rader. I was out of alignment one inch. Thank you so much. A 11 year old is too young to be having this kind of back pain, he said.

Thanks,

DEPRESSION AND MIGRAINE HEADACHES

I had been taking antidepressants for my migraines and was not thrilled about having to take this medication even though it was such a low dose. I also had severe neck pain for a few months that I thought was stress related due to a new job.
I had consulted with a chiropractor about treatment. The chiropractor told me that the treatment was going to last 4 months and I had to go 3 times a week. You even had to pay for the treatment up front. The office didn’t give me the warm fuzzies…I felt like I was just a number.

I mentioned my concern to a friend that happens to be a nurse anesthetist. She told me about a NUCCA doctor in Austin that was treating her for her digestive issues. She gave me Dr. Rader’s name and I came to see him.

At my friend’s recommendation, I went to Dr. Rader’s office and immediately noticed a difference in the way he does business. At first I was hesitant and didn’t think I could see such dramatic results. A couple of weeks after my first treatment, I had almost no neck pain. Now, one year later, I have stopped taking my migraine medications and have no longer had neck pain.

Coming to Dr. Rader’s office is always a pleasant feeling because you know he really wants to help people.

Thanks Dr. Rader!

BACK PAIN

I was introduced to NUCCA in 1999 by my son, who resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He had played professional basketball for 4-1/2 years but his career ended due to a herniated disc. He discovered Dr. Ray in Tulsa. The NUCCA treatments not only got his back in alignment and relieved him of severe pain, but it’s allowed him to live a normal and active life. He has been in alignment now for 2 years!

In August 1999, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. I had constant pain especially in my back and could get no relief from anything. My son insisted I see Dr. Ray.

It was one of the wisest decisions I have ever made. I lived in Conroe, 50 miles north of Houston, and would fly to Tulsa on a regular basis to see Dr. Ray. In 2000 my job required me to move to Sarasota Florida. I found Dr. Thomas, a NUCCA doctor located 3 hours away and I would drive for regular appointments.

In September 2001 I moved back to Texas and came home to Dallas. I just assumed I’d be flying back to Tulsa to see Dr. Ray, but much to my amazement I found Dr. Rader right here in Dallas!!!

I have certainly been on a journey with challenges and many valuable lessons. I have been extremely blessed and am now cancer-free and will always see Dr. Rader regularly to be assured that I’m always in alignment.

Thank You Dr. Rader…Thank You NUCCA!!!!

BACK PAIN

Dear Dr. Rader,

I have been wanting to write this letter to you for a while now, but just can't seem to get the free time. I wanted to thank you and your staff for helping me in my very painful time of need. You made me have hope for the medical field again. Doctors now days take so long to get you in, then they only see you five minutes. The three hours I was with you and your friendly staff was well worth it. You made me feel very comfortable and welcome. And better yet, you took my pain level from a 10 to a 3, and without medication. Its so hard to get people to understand what its like to live with such pain day after day. I am thankful there are people like. Now I can go forward and live my life and do the things I enjoy doing.

My doctor has told me many times to slow down and quit playing softball, or one day I will pay for it. I guess maybe I will but I will do what I can while I can. Over the past 10 years, I have hurt my back many times lifting things, but it always got better and the thought of changing jobs is not an option for me. I am a very active person who loves to be on the go all the time. Working construction, I hurt my back a few times and was down for a few months with pain.

You and your staff were very well worth the time and money I spent that day. I think if I hadn’t gone to you, I would have been off work and not able to live my life for a month or two at least. You gave me my life back that same day. I am so grateful to you. I have told many people about you and what you do, and what you have done for me.

AUTO ACCIDENT - CHRONIC BACK PAIN

Over forty years of ago, I was in an auto accident that put me in the hospital for 3 months. When I was released from the hospital I was wearing a complete back brace. I had been told that I would need to wear the brace for the rest of my life.
At that time, I had two small children and was unable to provide the type of care I wanted with the confines of a back brace. Being young and naive, I took it off and resumed my activities after three months.

I have lived with chronic back pain since that accident, until I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Rader. In another accident, I injured my back last August. I tried physical therapy and regular medical treatments for several weeks prior to my visit. I did not want to keep taking the pain medications and muscle relaxants.

After my first visit, I was no longer in pain and was amazed with the results. I have had only one episode of pain in the past nine months. That was quickly relieved by a visit with Dr. Rader. As an RN I knew what chronic pain could do to a person both physically and mentally. There are no words that can accurately express the gratitude I feel for Dr. Rader’s knowledge.

Respectfully,
Nancy T.

NECK PAIN AND BULGING DISC

After having serious neck pain after doing some landscaping work in my yard, I found out that I had a bulging disk in my neck. The doctor told me that I couldn’t really do anything to ease the tension in my neck. I am also a Marathon Runner. The doctor told me I would have to keep my running distances shorter. I heard about Dr. Rader through a friend and I made an appointment. About 7 months later I was feeling great with no neck tension at all and had run another Marathon!

Dr. Rader did a great job and has helped me get back into my active lifestyle. I consider myself a pretty skeptical person when it comes to alternative types of medicine. Dr. Rader has definitely changed my opinion of the NUCCA Chiropractic movement. Thanks Dr. Rader!

NERVE PAIN

In November 2002 I developed sciatic nerve pain with radiation into my right hip and lower back. I had been through my PCP-Standard insurance referral to a Chiropractor for the allowed sixteen visits with no relief. My father introduced me to NUCCA and told me of the success he and his wife had experienced with Dr. Gregg in Austin, TX. I did my homework on NUCCA and made several calls to discover that Dr. Rader was the one true NUCCA specialist in the entire Metroplex.

I began treatments in November 2002 in so much pain it was difficult to walk, sit, and especially painful to get in and out of the car. After just four treatments, the amount of relief was truly amazing. I have continued to receive treatments when necessary and have recently (April 2004) been documented pain free and holding my alignment, for the past four months. At 37 years old, I am now rediscovering my motivation to get back into church softball, golfing on a regular basis, and working out at the gym with my wife. It has been a true miracle!

BACK PAIN, NUMBNESS, AND INFERTILITY

My husband and I had been married for about 7 years when we decided we would like to start a family. After a year or so without having a baby, we started going to doctors to find out what the problem was. This began about 5 years of infertility treatments. Although we never took it as far as invitro fertilization, we tried everything else the specialists suggested, including surgery. After the operation, the doctor told us that there really was no reason we couldn’t get pregnant. However, we kept trying for over a year and a half, with no results.

During this time I began having flare-ups in my lower back that worsened to the point that my toes were numb and lost feeling. Since a teenager, I had been under periodic chiropractic care and decided I had better find a doctor to help me. A co-worker told me about a wonderful new method called NUCCA where he and his wife had experienced amazing results.

I called Dr. Travis Rader and made an appointment to come and see him. During the initial checkup we went through my list of symptoms and I mentioned that I was infertile. He told me to be aware that one of the side effects of this highly specialized chiropractic care is a cure for infertility. We laughed about it, and I began coming every week for my adjustments. Within 6 weeks I was pregnant for the first time in my life!

Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at about 10 weeks. For about a year my husband and I avoided getting pregnant, but unexpectedly, once again I became pregnant in the summer of 2003. Today we have a beautiful, perfect little baby girl, Jalie.

I tease Dr. Rader about being responsible for this baby! I know in my heart that his treatment is the reason she is here. The adjustments made to the atlas bone in my neck not only straightened my spine and took away the numbness in my toes, but I believe opened up compressed passages and pinched nerves allowing me to finally become pregnant. We are so thankful for this unexpected blessing from God, and grateful to Dr. Rader for the profound effect his practice has made on our health, our lives and our home. PAIN DOWN LEG (SCIATICA)

Dear Dr. Rader,

I understand the NUCCA Technique is the manual method of adjusting the atlas subluxation complex and is based on 3D x-ray studies that determine the correct line of drive or vector of force. I may never understand this technique completely, but I want to thank you for what you have done for me.

After many trips to the Texas Back Institute to find out why I was having a constant problem with what I can only describe as electrical shocks down the left side of my body that would buckle my leg, and I felt like I had grabbed 110 volt outlet. The surgeon at the Texas Back Institute took many x-rays, sent me to Physical Therapists, and to a Neurologist. I have had an MRI and was scheduled for a myelogram the day before I went to your office. I know my health insurance company has spent thousands of dollars on my behalf, but no one was able to tell me what my problem was, nor give me any relief in stopping this problem.

It has been over two weeks since my last adjustment and I'm thrilled to tell you I have not had one incident with my back and no electrical shocks.

I said all this to let you know I've got my head on straight, litterly, thanks to you. I will recommend your services at the North Dallas Spine Center to everybody I know with pleasure.

Regards,

GOOD DOCTOR

After checking in, I went directly to a chair that was away from others who were already waiting. I picked up a slightly tattered magazine and began to flip through the pages not sure if I really felt like reading. It wasn't long before Travis entered the room to greet me. I returned his "hello" and we started walking down the hallway together. Immediately, he said, "You seem low-key." Surprised by his comment, I responded, "I do?" How could he tell, I thought. I always smile when I see him. He was perceptive. I went on to say that I had had a rotten day at work.

In the adjusting room, Travis opened up my file to look at his notes from the last appointment while I started to lament, "I have a co-worker that is so critical of my every move! She said some things about me that really hurt and I don't think the situation was handled very well. She accused me of things I had said which were completely misinterpreted, not to mention insignificant. I had to defend myself without having any time to prepare what I wanted to say. Her comments were just thrown at me," I continued as I slumped onto the chair.

We talked briefly about other things and Travis asked me how I'd been feeling since the last adjustment and as usual he made a few notes in my chart. Moving to the table, he continued the routine by turning a small handle, changing the position of the headrest where he would be adjusting my neck. With his back to me, he softly stated, "It sounds like you need to confront your co-worker about what's bothering you. You should talk to her as soon as possible. Just be gentle."

I didn't say a word. I wanted to continue feeling sorry for myself. With silence still in the air, he paused, turned toward me and looked directly into my eyes. I almost melted. His eyes said I care that this situation is bothering you, but his "look" also inferred that he knew he was right. And I knew it, too.

As I left the student clinic that day my convictions were clear. My friend's "quiet confidence" helped me realize that I needed to face my co-worker, something I was not at all looking forward to doing. I thought about his comment to "be gentle". Even though I viewed her as my enemy, I needed to treat her with kindness. What Travis was quietly saying to me was to "speak the truth of love". I doubt that a lot of people would have offered that advice. He is going to be a great doctor some day I thought. Of that, I am confident.

KNEE AND SINUS PROBLEMS

Dear Dr. Rader,

I've been a NUCCA practice member for almost four years. Through the years I have come to an understanding of knowing what exactly that means. NUCCA has helped me with things I never imagined it would. I had knee problems for years and sinus problems all my life. Dr. Rader, through his knowledge, background and patience, has helped me through my ailments.

I've been a runner and athlete all my life. I actually began thinking I really needed to give up running…until I met Dr. Rader. I have to admit when I found out he was a chiropractor I didn't want much to do with it. I always associated chiropractors with the back. I didn't have back problems. I also heard enough stories to keep me away from chiropractors.

I had the privilege to get to know Dr. Rader as a friend first and I trusted him. He checked my legs one day and found that they were uneven. I decided to let him work on me. I still didn't expect much, however, because I didn't have back problems. I was right. I didn't notice a thing (the first time). After Dr. Rader worked on me some more I could do things I hadn't been able to do for years. Oh, and my sinus problems were gone! Because I didn't have any sinus problems anymore, I completely forgot about having them in the first place.

It took me about two years to really know when I "blew my fuse" as Dr. Rader puts it. There have been times when I thought I was "out" and I wasn't and vice versa. I'm amazed at how the body works with NUCCA. Now, when I'm sick I don't get antibiotics, I get a correction. I am very blessed to have met Dr. Rader. He really cares about his practice members and he's not happy until he reaches perfection. If you would like to contact me about NUCCA and my experiences feel free to call me.

In Great Health,
Mary

STIFF BACK

Dear Dr. Rader,

When our family walked into your office in May, I didn’t know what to expect. We have been thrilled with the results. Our son Josh competes at a high level in junior golf and had 1 tournament under par last summer. This summer he had 10! Our other son is Matthew and after playing golf for 3 or 4 years, his back was way out of line and he felt very stiff. Now he is loose and he feels great! My daughter Sarah and I have also been under your excellent care. I can’t tell you how much it has helped. We feel Great!

Thank you and God Bless You!

FRUSTRATED WITH CHRONIC PAIN

For the past few months I have been having trouble with my knee, as well as my back, legs and everything else.  I came to see Dr. Rader because my daughter was hopeful that he could help me.  After years of being active and fighting pain, my body seemed to be shutting down.  Honestly I was frustrated, mad and altogether ready to give up.  I was hoping that Dr. Rader could help me but I have seen many doctors without much help.  I am excited to say in just one month I am doing much better.  I feel better and I am excited to see the changes to come in the next months.  I mostly am happy that I am not taking as much pain medication and am hopeful that over time my body will continue to heal.  I wish I would have met Dr. Rader years ago, but hey, better late than never.  Thank you Dr. Rader!

NO SNAP, CRACKLE, OR POP

When I came to Dr. Rader, I was having to go see a chiropractor at least once a month. Pop back, snap neck and come back next month was what I was told I needed to do. I did this for about 10 years. When I came in and saw Dr. Rader, he told me he could help me without the snap, crackle and pop. At first I couldn’t believe that. With a couple of adjustments, I’m a believer in what Dr. Rader has done to free me from the headaches and back pain that I’ve felt all those years. If I would have only met him sooner.

QUALITY NUCCA UPPER CERVICAL CARE

I am very happy that Dr. Rader has come to North Texas! I grew up receiving NUCCA care from Dr. Brooks in Tulsa, who is a master. I was able to avoid surgery after a power lifting accident under his care.

Unfortunately, after moving to North Texas, it was difficult to hold my adjustments. I was driving back to Tulsa to see Dr. Brooks, and then I tried my luck with local chiropractors. One day my mother called and said Dr. Rader had been working with Dr. Brooks, and had opened an office in Plano. The first day I saw him was a great day! Now that I’m receiving good adjustments again, I am more productive, and I don’t fear lifting weights or playing golf.

BURNING IN FEET

To all perspective practice members:

A few months ago I noticed a burning sensation along the top of my toes.  This was painful and became even more so as the time progressed.  I saw a podiatrist that wanted to see me supports ($500) to wear in my shoes that would elevate my feet off the nerve that was causing the pain.  Basically they wanted to patch the problem instead of fixing the problem.  After several visits to Dr. Rader, the pain has reduced tremendously and my lower back doesn’t hurt when I walk anymore.  His painless method of adjustment helped me greatly and I would recommend his treatment to anyone with such type of problem.

Very pleased,

LOW BACK AND HIP PAIN

Dear Potential Practice Members of Dr. Rader,

Pain and depression! When I first came to Dr. Rader’s office my life was filled with pain and depression. When I had recently found out that I could not play golf anymore because of the pain it would inflict on my body, I was very depressed. I realize that there are a lot more important things in life than playing golf, but my quality of life had deteriorated to the point of not being able to stand for more than 5 minutes without intense pain and bending over or getting on my knees was almost impossible because of the pain.

I had not taken real good care of my body during my younger years. 22 years of football, 11 of which were with the Dallas Cowboys, resulted in two knee surgeries and left me with one leg shorter than the other. Needless to say my back, arms, neck, and shoulders took a beating during those years also. Arthritis had settled in most of my joints causing some of the pain.

Playing golf was something that I enjoyed with friends and considered it an essential part of my retirement. When I realized that my quality of life has deteriorated to this point and even golfing was going to be eliminated from activities before retirement, I became depressed.

The pain was located in the small of my back, my right hip, and my right groin. It would keep me up at night and nag at me during the day. As I mentioned earlier, the pain was so intense and restricting, it would prevent me from doing normal activities and certainly from swinging a golf club.

With just one adjustment after my X-rays and evaluation, I was pain free. I was pain free for two weeks. At that time, I felt so good, I hit some golf balls, against Dr. Rader’s advice. It was a mistake! The pain returned almost immediately. With another adjustment my pain was gone and I have been listening to Dr. Rader ever since. In time I will be able to play golf again. Thanks Dr. Rader.

My pain is gone, I walk taller, I am much happier and above all I am thankful for finding someone that can improve my quality of life like Dr. Rader has done.  My wife, our daughter, and my brother are now practice members of the North Dallas Spine Center.

With many thanks,
Dave M.

MIGRAINE HEADACHES

I read on the internet that some people with migraines benefit from upper cervical adjustment. I have seen a neurologist who specializes in migraine for about six years, and I take a prescription triptan with migraine onset. Anyone who has migraines wants to find the root source.

I first saw Dr. Rader in October 2004. I had been averaging 4 or 5 migraines a month. I called for an appointment after I had four migraines in six days.

Initially after beginning treatment, my migraines actually got a bit worse. But I was motivated to continue treatment because I saw an improvement in several unexpected areas. My left jaw, which has had a TMJ problem for several years, felt better after the first adjustment than it had in several years. The head tremor that started with cholesterol medication about six years ago improved about 75% after the first adjustment. I cancelled my appointment with a neurologist who specializes in tremor. And I had a day with energy I hadn’t felt in several years.

In October I had six migraines. In November I had five. In December I had one. So far in January I have had two. I have noticed four or five times that a migraine seems to be starting; I have waited to be sure before taking medication, and the migraine has gone away. In some cases the migraines I have are milder than they were before.

I am having more days with energy and endurance and have realized how bad I have felt for the past two or three years. I don’t notice the tremor anymore except when my body is going out of adjustment. My neck and shoulders are generally comfortable when my body is in adjustment; before I began treatment they hurt all the time.

I am enthusiastic about the improvements I’m experiencing and think more people should know about this treatment method. Dr. Rader is a caring person who really listens. And the atmosphere in his practice is warm and welcoming.

Sincerely,
Gail

BALANCING PROBLEM AND SCIATICA

Dear Dr. Rader,

It is with extreme gratitude that we want to express our appreciation for what you did for both of us. Fred suffered from unknown balancing problems for eighteen years. He consulted with neurologists, chiropractors, psychologists, and cardiologists. No help was received and they told him they couldn’t find anything wrong. Eighteen years. One visit to Dr. Rader, X-Rays, and one correction resulted in a new awareness and complete recovery from all the shaking and balancing problems. His only problem now is to break his eighteen year habit of leaning up against a wall for balance, which he no longer needs to do. Our family and friends are amazed! It was such a simple, painless treatment.

My healing was a little less dramatic. Dr. Rader did the same procedure on me for sciatic nerve problems and for the first time in a year the pain was gone and I slept through the night.

We both are amazed and thank God for Dr. Rader and his friendly staff. We told Dr. Rader we wished we’d found him twenty years ago but he quickly informed us that twenty years ago he’d have only been 13! We truly are blessed to find him.

MIGRAINE HEADACHES

I have been getting migraines since I was 12 years old. They started off painful and have only gotten worse. By the time I was 20 years old, I was having migraines an average of 20 days out of every month and had to be put on two daily medications in order to be able to lead a normal life. Of course, it took them two years to find the medications that would work. Even with the medication, I was still having migraines about seven to ten days a month, and having to take more medicine with each migraine that occurred. I was stuck in this cycle for almost seven years.

I started teaching two years ago and my migraines became a huge problem for me. Sometimes it’s hard to deal with 25 sixth graders on a good day, but when I get a migraine it becomes difficult to perform even the most routine lesson. One of the other sixth grade teachers knew how much trouble I have had with my migraines, and had heard about Dr. Rader through her sister. She said I should give him a call, maybe he could help me. She also knew that my husband and I would like to start a family and had been looking into alternatives to the daily medications (which are unhealthy for pregnant women). So almost a year ago, I decided to give it a try.

Immediately after my first adjustment, I noticed my body felt more balanced. I started to have fewer migraines almost right away, and they keep getting better. My neurologist is very excited with the progress I have made and she has begun reducing my medications already. I only have about one migraine a month now, and even those do not cause even a fraction of the pain I was in before I began seeing Dr. Rader. It’s nice to find a doctor who really listens and looks at the whole picture for what is causing an ailment. Thanks to this process, I have my health and planning a family has finally become a reality for my husband and I.

CAR WRECK - BACK PAIN, MUSCLE SPASMS, AND HEADACHES

I was in a very bad car wreck in August f 1994 at the age of 18. I was undergoing care/treatment from Physical Therapists, Chiropractic care, Neurologists, and pain medication. I felt like life as I knew and loved was over. After 4 years of random doctors, I stopped all treatment as nothing truly worked and my insurance company placed an Exclusion Rider on anything car wreck related. Overall, I am a very healthy individual and at least 97% of doctor visits were related to my injuries. Basically, I learned to deal with daily headaches, knots in my shoulders that were visible, and an aching back. At this point in time, I could not stand up longer than an hour or so without sitting and letting pressure off my neck, back, and shoulders. At the age of 22, I felt like I was 60 years old. I was unable to workout or exercise because the pain was only intensified. I went to school, worked, and slept. That’s it…my exciting life.

After several years of pain and suffering, I had a dear friend who explained NUCCA to me and how she thought it could really help. At first I was very skeptical because my father was a regular Chiropractor and I always thought “father knows best”. Chiropractor’s could temporarily relieve me of pain but it was never permanent. Another barrier was cost. I am on a budget and I really didn’t have the money to even try NUCCA. Despite all the limitations, I gave it a shot and what a life changing matter it has become! I feel like I am 28 or even 21! In less than a year, I have started enjoying life again. NO HEADACHES! No more Vicodin, Tylenol, or Ibuprofen! I have more energy than I could have ever imagined. It’s nothing short of a miracle and I owe it all to Dr. Rader.

In addition to the main reasons I started seeing Dr. Rader, I would like to add I don’t suffer from allergies anymore. I used to take medicines for allergies on a daily basis and now I take them a few times every couple of months. What a great added bonus!

From now until the day I die, I owe Dr. Rader my life because until I met him, I wasn’t truly living. He has brought me good health and LIFE and for that I am forever indebted. I hope my story has some way impacted you. Good luck and be healthy!

Thank you, Dr. Rader!! More than you will ever know.

Sincerely,
Regina

HEADACHES, DIZZINESS, WEAKNESS, AND MEMORY LOSS

My story is a long one. I used to have a lot of headaches, dizziness, my knees stretch, loss of memory, lack of concentration, and a lot of weakness. You can say just a lousy old woman at the age of 30.

I changed 3 doctors. They ripped me off every time I went there. They used to charge me almost $200.00 every visit in spite of my insurance. I had a CT scan done, but no indications were found. Then one of the doctors said I had fibromyalgia and there is no treatment for it, just wait and watch. I went to a rheumatologist. He said my arthritis was at a higher level and this could result in confinement to a wheelchair permanently for a couple of years. I was just 28 yrs. old then; had 2 kids, 1 in kindergarten and the other still younger. He said that there is one thing that can be done; they have to give a steroid (don’t know exact word). That means that they have to flush my blood from the whole body and get another without any guarantee. I even had my eyes checked and there is no family history of any kind.

Finally at work, someone gave me a business card for Dr. Rader. I called him and set up my 1st appointment, which was a free consultation. I visited so many different doctors, gave lots of blood samples, and was also loosing weight without any specific symptoms detected, so I was a little mean to the doctor. Without his knowledge, I was testing him in my own way, to see whether he is also among those money-reaping doctors, or if he can really cure me.

After a brief conversation and X-Rays, I had a little faith in his treatment. I used to ask him what happened in my case type and he said exactly the same thing that I was experiencing. I once over-ruled his instructions of resting after an adjustment was made. I just wanted to know whether he was right or wrong, and he was right. I didn’t tell him then, but a long time after that.

He also felt proud of being tested and also that I’m pleased with his treatment. He taught me how to relax, notice my stress and symptoms, and relate to them. Within four months, I’m completely fine, healthy, and wealthy of my health. I feel on top of the world. I’m fine and so I feel good about myself.

Thanks to Dr. Rader and his sincere efforts to cure and treat directly at the cause of trouble. He is very friendly and kind. I finally found a doctor that I can trust and can be trusted by all. I’m now absolutely fine, after spending thousands of dollars and at least five years elsewhere. In just a couple of adjustments with the help of Dr. Rader, I’m pretty fit.

Thanks Dr. Rader!

Sincerely,
Nancy P.

HIP PAIN AND STRESS

Dear Dr. Rader,

The first thing I want to say is that Dr. Rader is a miracle worker. Following the adjustment I had no idea that I would feel as well as I do today.

I have had a constant pain in my right hip, which I had adapted to after it had been locked up for over eight years. This situation further caused misalignment in my spine and neck, causing me undue stress.

I have been to orthopedic doctors, physical therapists, many different chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists… all to no avail.

Only Dr. Rader was able to pinpoint the problem and make the necessary adjustment. For that I could not be more thankful to he and his staff.

Sincerely,

FIBROMYALGIA

Dear Dr. Rader,

I came to see Dr. Rader in February 2002 after suffering with Fibromyalgia for approximately 5-6 years. I was being treated with powerful narcotics and was getting minimal relief. I had recently stopped working except for an occasional four-hour shift when I was actually able to get out of bed and remain upright. Dr. Rader examined me, x-rayed my spine, and told me he could get me healthy. I wasn't quite as optimistic as he was because I had tried many different treatments in the past that had proven unsuccessful. Dr. Rader explained the pathways the nerves took that generated from my spine, and I began to understand how all the different body systems were affected. Within the first month of treatment I began to feel better. My energy level improved, and I was able to go off the narcotics because my pain was gone!! It took several appointments to get my spine to stay in alignment, but Dr. Rader's treatment was almost immediate and doesn't compare to any treatments or results I've had with any other thing I've tried in the past. I would definitely recommend Dr. Rader to anyone who is suffering in any way. Theoretically - aligning the spine affects every body system and I saw the changes immediately after being treated by Dr. Rader. Any practice member that comes to North Dallas Spine Center will be changed and be healthier than they could ever imagine.
Thank you Dr. Rader!!!

You made a believer out of me.

HERNIATED DISC

After my first adjustment from Dr. Rader I could not believe the relief I received, after living in pain for 19 years, months and months of therapy, attending “back school” to learn how to live in pain, not to mention the thousands of dollars spent and lost time with my kids.  This doctor was going to “fix me” by adjusting me below my ear! Unbelievable!  But, that is exactly what he did and here is my testimony.

I had a herniated disc in my lower back in 1986.  I was 31.  I walked around 9 months dragging my right leg and living in incredible pain while going to physical therapy everyday, taking prescription medicine and attaching myself to a TENS Unit to divert the pain waves to my brain before I got any relief.  They suggested surgery but I did not like the risk that came with that. So off and on over the next 19 years I dealt with this injury.  There were times when it was so bad I would just lay on a heating pad for days.

March 2005.  A co-worker who had just moved here from Phoenix, Arizona noticed I was walking slowly and without my typical grin and ask what was wrong.  After telling her about my back, she told me about this back Doctor she had been going to since she was 10.  She then found one here in Plano and gave me his name and number.  I made the call that would change my life forever.
On my first visit, I was very nervous and in pain.  I was leaving for Atlanta the next day, a 10 hour drive in the car and I could hardly sit at all.  After all the questions, scan, X-rays and discussion about cost I was told to return in the morning for my first adjustment.  When I went home that evening, my husband asked me what it was about and I said I really don’t know.  All I knew was that Dr. Rader does not believe in surgery or prescription drugs and that he said he could help me.  My husband said, whatever it takes honey, hugged me and we prayed that God had sent me this Doctor and I was going to get better.

My appointment was at 7:30am.  I was leaving at 2:00 to go to Atlanta.  I woke up, tossed down a couple of gel cap Advil and drove to Dr. Rader’s office.  When I arrived, sweet Lindsey showed me to the examining room.

As I sat on the examining table praying for God to calm my nerves and give me strength, in walked Dr. Rader.  He put up my X-rays and explained to me how I was out of alignment and that how what he does is realign my body so that it can work the way it should.  I thought that is going to be a miracle in itself.  My body has not worked the way it should in years.  I removed my earrings and got down on the smaller table.  As I lay there waiting for him to pounce on me and pop my back, neck and other areas of my body, which is what I thought all chiropractors did, I thought and prayed, Lord let this really work.  As he took one final look at my X-rays he noticed how tense I was and asked me if I was ok.  I told him I was nervous and that I did not like the popping part.  He assured me that he does nothing like that.  He gently laid his hand on my ear and said “This is all the pressure you will feel”.  I took a deep breath and he did his magic.

After he did the adjustment I started to giggle inside and thought to myself. Girl, you might have been born at night but it was not last night!  This doctor was going to get me well by pushing gently on my ear! I am sure there is a lot more to it than that, but that is all I felt!

He asked me to stand and walk around.  I asked him, is that it?  He said yes.  I started to laugh out loud!  You’re kidding!  He said no; tell me how you feel.  I laughed again and he said again, how do you feel?  How do I feel?  I feel like a fool! ( I did not say that out loud).  I then noticed the burning had eased in my back and I felt balanced.   I walked around a little and said I feel better or at least different.  He told me my adjustment would continue over the next 3 days and to not hesitate to call him if I had questions.

I went to the front desk and Lindsey showed me the “time out room” at least that is what I call it because it is probably the only time in my life I completely stop.  I sat there for 15 minutes trying to relax and not laugh still thinking this was crazy!  Taking a deep breath, I finally relaxed, a little.

When I left the room, Lindsey gave me my next appointment card and Dr. Rader’s personal cell phone and said to call if I needed to ask more questions or needed anything.  I thought that was different. A doctor giving out his personal cell phone…hmmm.

Drove to Forney, Texas where I live and got in the van for the long road trip to Atlanta.  My husband asked how I felt and I told him I’m not sure, something was different about my back, but I was not sure what it was.  An hour after we were on the road, Dr. Rader called my cell phone and asked me how I was doing.  My teeth almost fell out of my mouth.  I could not believe he was calling me to see how I was doing.  I told him I was feeling better, he told me to try and stop every 2 hours and get out and walk around and to call him if I needed anything.  My husband looked at me and said that was surprising.

Over the course of the next 3 days, the pain and spasms continued to decrease; I slept through the night for the first time in years and could not believe the relief I was getting.  My husband took out time getting home and stopped and actually did a little site seeing.

That was 5 months ago and I am in great shape.  I have only once had a slight backache and only after digging in my flowerbed all day.  My husband is now a patient of his and tells everyone I know that there is a Dr. who performs miracles.  His name is Dr. Rader!  Thank you Dr. Rader!

HEADACHES AND NECK PAIN

For the past month I have been seeing Dr. Rader and I would like to share my awesome experience.  Over Christmas after talking with family members who have been seeing Dr. Rader for awhile, I decided that I should bring my mother, who was having trouble to see if Dr. Rader could help her.  On our first visit, as I sat in the waiting area with my neck hurting, I decided that I should see him as well.  I honestly can’t remember a time when my neck didn’t hurt.  I have had headaches and neck tension for years now.  I attributed the neck pain to being active and teaching third graders.  Finally I decided to see if Dr. Rader could help.  I am happy to share that in just one short month my neck feels much better.  I am not having headaches as much and I sleep soundly throughout the night. I am excited to see what the next month brings as well as very thankful for Dr. Rader’s help.

BACK PAIN

I like coming to the Spine Center because Dr. Rader has really helped me. When I first came to see him, my outlook on life was not good, but after a few adjustments I began to look forward to getting up every morning again!  Dr. Rader has also helped my husband with the pain in his back.

The first thing I noticed about Dr. Rader was how sincere his concern was for us and continues to be. He's real down to earth and we really like that. He treats us like friends but with respect.

We're very grateful to him, and to God for using him in this way.

"ANGEL OF HOPE"

I have traveled down a painful and lengthy road toward a full recovery and an exciting life.  It was around 15 months ago that an uncle of mine referred me to Dr. Rader at the North Dallas Spine Center.  My parents and I were doubtful, but hopeful that Dr. Rader could offer me some glimmer of hope.

I cannot determine when exactly that I injured my neck or got my body so out of line, but Dr. Rader informed me that it would take time for my body to heal because it had taken years for my injury to set in and increase in severity.

I had suffered with painful muscle spasms and a pulled neck for the past 6 years.  I had visited numerous specialists for some relief, but relief rarely came and quickly vanished each time.  I was put on every muscle relaxer known to the medical field and suffered many side effects from each or a mixture of two.  I was tested for inner ear disorders and neurological problems of all sorts.  I visited chiropractors who were quick to “pop” and “pull” every inch of my body only to find my problems increasing in pain and intensity.

I had been referred to a neurosurgeon for botox injections into the sight of muscle spasms or a possible surgical procedure in which muscles in my neck and shoulders would be “severed”, but no guarantee was made.  Due to a lack of knowledge and many small town doctors, I had been diagnosed with “dystonia” based on my symptoms and a lifetime sentence of pain had been placed on me.  I battled with depression in the midst of the years of pain because of all the confinement, restrictions, and physical contortions that this disease offered.  My head pulled to my right almost continuously when I was sitting or standing upright.  I found myself staying in all the time and lying around to get some relief.  I wore neck braces for years for some relief.  People would stare as I struggled to look forward and as I grimaced in pain.  Socializing with others was near impossible.  Driving was no longer an option for me.  Numerous visits to the emergency room where I was given Valium to knock me out would be the only answer the medical field could offer me.

Dr. Rader is my “angel of hope”.  His dedication to make me live a normal life will never be forgotten.  He has answered my prayer to be pain free and to be ever conscious of my body’s limitations.  My recovery would not be a speedy one, but one of taking an adjustment and carefully watching to make sure it held by resting and making wise decisions to rest and let the adjustment set.
I continue to see Dr, Rader on a regular basis and with each visit we are marveled at the “miracle” he has performed.

If you are suffering and do not feel that anyone knows how you feel, including numerous physicians then I “highly” recommend that you allow my “angel of hope” to review your history and consult with you on your physical ailments.

I am and will always be thankful and never take for granted each pain free minute I have.  Let your journey to a healing life begin here with Dr. Rader. We all need and “angel of hope” in our life no matter what ails you.

Sincerely Yours,
Lori

LEG PAIN GONE

Before I was treated at North Dallas Spine Center my right leg used to pivot out causing severe muscle pain.  I have been suffering from this unbalanced situation for at least 10 years.  Hiking would often result in a pulled leg muscle.  I have been to other chiropractors in the past but these treatments didn’t seem to make a difference.  Because of my occupation as a Marine this type of problem would hinder my physical abilities to perform.  Recently, a family member suggested that I visit Dr. Rader for another problem that I was having.  After two visits to Dr. Rader, my leg began to point straight and the corrections have been holding.

Thanks to Dr. Rader I no longer suffer from leg pain.
